Kana

Kana first meets Kosaku as the two are hiding out in the same playground. She shares the same love of food as Kosaku and the two quickly become fast friends.

Kana has the misfortune of being in a relationship with Yashamaru. As much as Mukoda curses Kosaku for over-eating, Yashamaru does the same with Kana. After a fight with Yashamaru she moves in with Kosaku and the two stir up quite a scandal amongst Kosaku's gym mates.

At first Kana seems oblivious to the fact that Kosaku finds her extremely sexy, but as her relationship with Yashamaru continues to deteriorate she becomes attracted to him as well and even decides to sleep with him. Things change however when she learns that she's pregnant with Yashamaru's child and finally realizes how much he loves her, she goes back to him.

The Meaning Behind the Name - 可菜

The kanji characters of Kana's name (可菜) are interesting. Translated they stand for "passable vegetables." So Kana will basically eat anything, even vegetables, if she must.
