Inuyasha's successful television program spun off four films that serve as independant stories not focusing on material written by Rumiko Takahashi. The first three films used a different character designer than the television series, resulting in new looks for the characters and evoking a mixed reaction from fans. This is the only series of Takahashi films with a consistent director and screen writer throughout.
