May 8, 2020 - In surprising news, an Inuyasha sequel anime has just been announced. Entitled "Hanyou no Yasha hime" (Half-Demon Princess Yasha/Yashahime). Shonen Sunday 2020 Vol. 24 announced the sequel anime with the text on the side of the image giving a description of the series as: "Time passes from the story of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, and the daughters of the brothers open a new legendary door."
February 5, 2017 - A new Inuyasha stage play has been annouced which will star musician Yutaka Kyan as Inuyasha. The FAQ has been updated to include some information about the plays as well.

June 17- After tweleve years, the series has now come to an end. We've posted the final story summary, basically wrapping things up here. I'm sure we'll have a few more loose ends to tie up, but essentially as the series ends, we say goodbye as well. We'll continue to bring you all the current news and updates as Viz continues to release the English language translations. Thank you all for your long and continuing support. "Many thanks to everyone at Rumic World/The Inuyasha Companion for embracing me as part of the "team" last year after I volunteered to summarize the weekly Inuyasha anime raw broadcasts from Japan. During the project, I felt like I've 'lived' the adventure battling Naraku and his minions, sharing frustrations, witnessing growing pains (�improving my Nihongo skills� learning to live with sleep deprivation) as the characters pursued their search for the Shikon no Tama shards and blossomed into young adulthood.
Like many of you, I share a sense of loss as the Inuyasha anime series concludes. However, I'm optimistic we haven't seen the last of our brash young Hanyo, his friends, or his enemies, yet!
