Refuto

A fourth generation Mikazuki Master, Refuto is a blacksmith who specializes in repairing and sharpening damaged shinigami scythes. He is quiet and more laid back than his outgoing sister, Raito, but beneath his quiet exterior lies a snarky, insult-laden core. This side of him manifests whenever he encounters Rinne, whom he views as a pauper who is too poor to deserve the quality craftmanship that he delivers.

Because of his youth and inexperience the Mikazuki Store that he inherited from his master has fallen on hard times, and so Refuto is dependant upon his sister to drum up new business. While business is bad, Refuto still maintains an arrogance about the quality of his work, and his poor attitude may be as much responsible for the lack of custormers as his youth and lack of a reputation.

Because of his love for repairing scythes Refuto becomes so overjoyed at learning a new technique that he sometimes fails to read things all the way through. This causes him to embue the scythes that he repairs with added abilities that are often unwanted or undesireable.

The Meaning Behind the Name - 零不兎

Refuto's name is written with three kanji that mean "zero," "clumsy" and "rabbit". Words that are all apt discriptors of this troublesome bunny boy. His name is pronounced as "Refuto" in the original Japanese, but the reference is meant to bring to mind "Left" to his sister Raito (Right).
