This section is devoted to the small but important supporting characters that appear throughout Kyokai no Rinne. They often play key roles in the stories in which they appear.

Sakura's superstitious best friend. Rika usually finds herself mixed up in the latest haunting through no fault of her own. Her first brush with the occult comes when she inherites a haunted phone number that has been floating around for years. |
| Schoolboy Ghost |

A dead school boy who was never able to talk to girls when he was alive. His spirit has remained behind on earth hoping to catch the attention of a pretty young girl who will speak to him. |

A chihuaua ghost that merges with the schoolboy to form a more powerful, and weird, spirit. |

| |
Sakura and Rinne's gym teacher. His eyes sparkle like the stars in the night sky. |
| Wrong-Number Ghost |
| |
A ghost named Suzuki who calls a certain phone number every day at and demands a meeting behind the gym. His lingering attachment is a mystery until Rinne gets involved and helps send him into the afterlife. |

Sakura's school's nurse. She can usually be found taking care of sick students or feeding snacks to Rokumon. |

Rinne's grandpa and Tamako's husband. He was a human who passed away and was reincarnated as a mackerel. |

A student of great beauty. Himekawa is a year older than Sakura and Rinne. She has been plauged by dreams of a soldier ever since she went on a school fieldtrip. |

A spirit soldier who believes that Kaori Himekawa is the reincarnation of his beloved Hime. Rinne takes the case to prove whether or not she is in fact the princess reincarnated. |
| Misora Utagawa |

A ghost who haunts the pool at Sakura's high school. Misora can be heard singing at night and in the daytime, plays pranks by grabbing student's legs and pulling them underwater. |
| Reiji Todoriki |

Reiji is Suzu's boyfriend, and after getting into a motorcycle accident, he falls under Masato's power. Masato manipulates him into tormenting his girlfriend and former best friend by making him think they are dating. |

|
Suzu is Reiji's girlfriend, and is concerned for him when he falls into a coma after his motorcycle accident. Reiji is tricked into believing that she is dating his best friend, Tomoyo. She's also a member of the wrestling team.

Tomoya is a mild-mannered boy who was best friends with Reiji prior to his accident. Thanks to Masato, Reiji's spirit now believes he is trying to steal Suzu away from him. Read in the Japanese order, his name means "just a friend". |

A rabbit that was going to die from lonliness until Rinne arrived to feed it, thus beginning Masato's long hatred for him. |

A once sickly student who had a crush on Sakura's friend Miho. After he died, his spirit could not pass on until Rinne allowed him to use his haori in order to ask Miho out on a date.

A friend of Sakura and Rika's, Miho agress to go on a date with the sickly spirit of Usui. She is also the student council secretary.

An unhappy child ghost who was driven from her home in an elementary school bathroom by Tsubasa when he was a child. Now she has found him once again and seeks her revenge with the help of Toichi.

A spirit made up of many weaker spirits who he has absorbed. He seeks to absorb Hanako after she continually borrows his power. His name means "ten percent interest every ten days", a pun on the spiritual interest he accrues by loaning out his power to weaker ghosts.

This spirit steals the handsome face of Kimura in order to lead unsuspecting young girls into the afterlife before their time. |

Kimura was a handsome upperclassman who passed away unbeknownst to many. The Pumpkin Head steals his spirit's face and returns to try and collect the hearts (and spirits) of his young fans. |
| Faceless Spirit |

The Faceless Spirit is the embodiment of emotions let out by a member of the art club. She has no face, but asks students to draw her, when they make up a face to assign to their drawing, she inevitably gets angry and throws ink on them. |

This student seems to have a previous relationship with the Faceless Spirit, and he is the only student whom she seems to be shy and nervous around. |

Hitomi is the former club president and the one responsible for the Faceless Spirit's rampage, thanks to a drawing she stole and erased. |
| Cat Chief |

The cheif is in charge of the Black Cat by Contract organization. He helps give assignments and desseminate information to his employees. |
| Grim Reaper |
|
This demashigami disguises himself as a large teddy bear doctor and volunteers to treat Rinne. In reality he actually attempts to poison him to death. |
| Wind-Up Nurse |
|
This wind-up nurse is the assistant to the Grim Reaper demashigami and also tries to kill Rinne once their motifs are discovered. |
| Pencil Salesman |
|
The pencil salesman sells magical mechanical pencils that make you smarter, though if score a 100 on a test while using it, the pencil will lure you away, and the salesman will capture you and force you to build more of the bewitched devices for him to distribute. |
| Ageha's Sister |
|
Ageha's sister disappears and sends a her sister a postcard saying that she intends to marry Sabato Rokudo, a damashigami. She continues to work as his "mysterious hot secretary". |
| Soul Eater King |
| |
The Soul Eater King is a demon that lives within a cursed jubako lunch box. Whomever eats from the jubako is given three wishes, though at the cost of their soul. When appearing to Rinne, the Soul Eater King appears in the guise of a giant octopus made from a weiner. |
| Tosanishiki |
|
This disembodied spirit of a tosa dog has lost its master and settled between two collapsable bookcases at Sankai High. He prevents anyone from opening the cases, but if they manage to he attacks them. |
| Fumika Honda |
|
This young spirit holds the broken end of the tosa dog's leash. Her heart was broken when she nearly asked A-kun out, only to discover he already had a girlfriend, B-ko. Ageha and Rinne set out to reunite her with the spirit of her dog. |

|
Fumika is in love with A-kun, but A-kun only has eyes for B-ko. |
| B-ko |
|
B-ko is a student who works in the library and is dating A-kun, which crushes poor Fumika who had hoped to ask him out. |
| Riku Hayata |
|
Riku is an up-and-coming track star who accidently threw a banana peel on the track which caused his senpai, Shu Kazami to become injured. His last name is written with the kanji for "fast". |

|
Shu is the captain of the track team and its fastest runner prior to Riku joining. He becomes injured thanks to Riku tossing a banana peel on the track. |

|
Yota is a former 4th grade classmate of Sakura's who died during elemenatary school. Upon revisiting their old school, Tsubasa and Sakura discover that he has become an evil spirit who wields a giant yo-yo called Creeper. |

Ranko and Rinko were twin sisters. Ranko was a delinquent, while Rinko was a good student. In the 1980s, Ranko died and twenty years later her deeds wind up making her neice, Naomi Yuki, look bad. |

Natsumi's grandpa tried to win his granddaughter a teddy bear at the local festival, but he died before he was able to do it. Now his spirit lingers and prevents any of her boyfriends from winning it in his place. |

This haggard looking man runs the haunted shooting gallery that Natsumi's grandfather haunts. |
| Karate Guy |
|
This young karate student had a heart attack while running on the beach, and now his spirit lingers, wishing he could go on a date with a beautiful girl before passing on into the next life. |
| Tatsuya Fujinami |
| |
Tatsuya Fujinami is the captain of the pro-wrestling club. After returning from his summer holidays he complains of having a heavy weight resting on his head. It is actually the invisible spirit road Way Stone perched atop his head. |

This way stone draws lost spirits to a spirit road so they can go on to the next life without the assisstance of a shinigami. Unfortunately this way stone wishes to leave the isolation of its mountain setting for life in the big city. |

This ghost cat has kidnapped little Taichi and replaced him. He has been locked within the shrine since the Edo Period and has no plans on returning. |

Toramaru is Akamaru's partner. Once freed he impersonates Hiroshi, moves into his house and pesters his family. |

Taro Nekota seeks out Rinne's help when his brother begins to act strangely. Rinne discovers that a ghost cat has been impersonating the little boy. |

A kind fifth grader, Hiroshi was kidnapped by the evil bakeneko. The impersonator has ceaselessly attacked his family while Hiroshi is trapped inside a tiny shrine with his friends. |

Taichi is the last of Hiroshi's group of friends that haven't disappeared, but when Rinne goes to check on him he finds he is too late. He too has been replaced by a ghost cat. |

Yuji is friends with Hiroshi, Taichi and Koji, all of have been abducted by the ghost cats. |

Koji is another friend of Taichi and Hiroshi's that has disappeared and is trapped inside the small shrine with the other boys. |

Mrs. Mamiya is the mother of Sakura. She is 39 years old and her husband is a banker. She has no spiritual abilities, unlike her daughter. |

Imoto is a former member of the horticulture club. In a surprising move she quits and attempts to curse one of the other memmbers, Tomoo Asatsuma. Her curse eventually begins to affect her as well. |

Tomoo is a freshman and member of the horticulture club alongside Imoto. He has a crush on her and is shocked both when she quits the club and when he finds out she tried to curse him. |
| Satsumaimo Sweet Potatoes |

These satsumaimo sweet potatoes were placed under a mandragora curse by Imoto. When picked they scream and yell and then are generally unappetizing. |
| Alligator Lady |
|
This woman owned a baby alligator many years ago, unfortunately the alligator escaped and died, but she refuses to believe that the monsterous spirit roaming the streets could possibly be her lost Chibi. |

|
Chibi was a baby alligator who wandered away from his owner's apartment and lived in a storm drain for some time. He faced many hardships and eventually died. However Chibi's spirit isn't a baby, and now he searches the streets using the face of his former owner in hopes of finding her once more. |
| Shosuke Ohara |

Shosuke Ohara is your average 79 year old who takes a walk every morning. When he stops in the park to feed the birds, Rinne, using his Haori of the Underworld, snatches up the beans from the ground for his breakfast. |
| Friendly Square Salesman |

This afterlife salesman tricks Ageha into buying a "friendly square" which is actually just a normal kotatsu. |
| Home Economics Teacher |
|
This is the home economics teacher for Sankai High School. She is unaware that there is a ghost haunting her classroom. |
| Kitchen Counter Ghost |
|
This young man is a ghost who was never given any of the food cooked by the girls in home economics. Because of this rejection his spirit lingered at the school, angrily ruining any food made at one of the cooking stations. |
| Haruka Igawa |
|
Haruka is the handicraft club vice-president from second year, class one. She wanted to give a hand-knitted scarf to an upperclassman she liked, but is disappointed when she sees another girl beat her to it. |

|
This seemingly unarttractive karate student is more to Haruka's taste than Rinne, which wounds the shinigami's pride a bit. |
| Manabu Ochiai |
|
A sleepy student who thinks he has been cursed because he constantly falls asleep whenever he tries to study for his college entrance exams. Everyone tells his this is normal, but he suspects something supernatural is ailing him. |
| Keiko |
|
Keiko is a gorgeous college student who tutors high schoolers who are studying for their entrance exams. When she was younger she studied too hard and became sick, causing her to miss taking her exams that year. Now her disembodied spirit tries to lull students into falling asleep to keep them from overworking themselves. |
| Yukina |
|
Yukina is a young ghost that haunts the local ice skating rink. She was supposed to give a special lesson to Shizuka, but he never showed up and she died a short time later. Now she bullies anyone who gets in her way as she constantly waits for Shizuka to arrive. |

Years ago Shizuka's parents forced him to take up ice skating in hopes that he could become an Olympic athelete. Shizuka had promised to give him a special lesson but he came down with the flu and missed his appointment. Now he receives letters from the ghost urging him to return to the rink each year. |

Yayoi was a girl from the Taisho Era that died of a cold, worsened by the rejection of a boy she loved. Now an evil spirit, she haunts Tsubasa hoping to take him with her into the afterlife. |
| Ramen |
|
This earnest, hardworking ghost haunts the Ramen Kaedama restaurant and possesses Sabato, forcing him to make ramen all day to serve to hungry kids. He promises he'll happily go on to the next world if he can borrow a body and cook for 100 years. |
| Drama Club President |
|
The drama club president comes to Rinne with the problem of a haunted wig. When they find out the cause of the problem, the club president steps in to help them rid the school of this pesky spirit. |

This old, ratty wig became angry when it never got to play a part in the school play. After much investigation the wig is given the chance to sit on Sakura's head and play Cinderella. Unfortunately the mop top soon realizes that was not the role it was intended for. |

The spirit of a boy who can never leave the bus he's stuck forever riding on. Sakura meets him and asks Rinne to help reunite him with the girl he loved before his untimely death. |

A friend of Sakura's who has just moved into a new apartment with her family. Unfortunately the apartment is haunted by a truly odd spirit. |

|
The ghost of a boy who wants nothing more than to win a talent competition. He spins plates, wears flippers and a mask in an attempt to win the crowd over. |

A boy cursed by a rain cloud that constantly follows him. He asks for Rinne's help to overcome his stormy past. |

This spirit dwells within a refridgerator. Her love of hot foods causes her to refuse to allow anything to be placed in her refridgerator home. |

The embodiment of a child's desire to smash watermelons for fun during the summer, this creature was born out of this long-held desire. |
