Chapter 120: 三日月堂の姉弟
Mikazukidou no kyoudai

(The Mikazuki Temple Siblings)
While waiting at the train station one day, Sakura notices the ghost of a girl looming behind a young couple, preparing to push them in front of the oncoming train. She calls out to the ghost, allowing the intended victims to escape before any harm could befall them. Back in the spirit world Rinne is shopping for a new scythe, but finds the prices have gone up. As he and Rokumon walk away, depressed over having to make due with his chipped and battered weapon a cloaked figure suddenly attacks them from behind, revealing herself to be a white bunny girl. Rinne deflects her attack, and his scythe makes a ringing sound, causing the attack to stop in their tracks. She removes her cloak and says that based on the sound the blade made, it is not the scythe she is looking for. As an apology she gives Rinne a free coupon to the Mikazuki Temple Scythe Maintenance store where she works. Upon arriving at the store Rinne and Rokumon are unimpressed to find it somewhat run down. The bunny girl introduces the duo to her brother, a black bunny who is reforging a scythe. He is rather gloomy and does not bother to greet Rinne and Rokumon earning him a beating from his sister. She goes on to explain that her name is Raito, and she deals with the customers while her brother, Refuto does all the repair work. Raito explains that they inherited the business, but because they have very little experience they've been losing customers. Rinne decides to give them a chance and presents his scythe for sharpening. Refuto takes one look at the blade and laughs, telling Rinne its retail value is around 1,000 yen, which earns him another knock on his head from Raito. With one swift blow, a Mikazuki special technique, Refuto beats the blade back into shape. With his scythe repaired Rinne goes back to the mortal world to help Sakura deal with the pushy spirit girl. Upon arriving his blade suddenly begins to glow and Rinne decides to test out the repair job.

Chapter 121: 我が半生
Waga hansei

(Half of My Life)
Rinne challenges the evil spirit of the girl who has been pushing couples in front of trains with his newly repaired scythe. Rokumon explains to Sakura the work that was recently done on Rinne's scythe and they watch as it glows with power and he dispatches the ghostly girl with a single swipe. Rinne asks if she still wants revenge on couples as the ghost seems to be purified of her evil intentions. Initially she seems to be at peace, but the tells Rinne just one more hit will make her happy. She proceeds to slap Rinne, sending him flying through the air and then disappears with her soul finally finding peace and passing on to the next realm. Rinne proceeds about his work, purifying spirits in the neighborhood, but strangely each one punches him in the face before peacefully departing to heaven. As it turns out, Refuto modified the blade so that whatever grievance was keeping the spirits on earth is altered so that they will attack Rinne and then immediately find peace. While this makes for quick exorcisms, it quickly begins to take its toll on Rinne. Raito explains that it was a free of charge repair job, and if he'd like his scythe modified again it will cost money. Sakura and Rokumon both suggest this sounds an awful lot like fraud or extortion when Refuto speaks up. He explains that he used one of the best and most secret repair manuals, a book entitled "Half of My Life" to repair Rinne's scythe. Rinne thumbs through the book and realizes that the author explained the improvement would cut exorcism times in half, but he was flooded with complaints due to all of the spirits turning against the Shinigami before they disappeared. Refuto admits that he did not read the entire entry beyond the fact that it cut exorcism times in half and then he examines the book again. Sakura remarks that the book Refuto believed was a book of secret techniques might actually be a jounral of all the mistakes the previous owner of Mikazuki made during his time there- the title, when read another way actually means "My Regrets". Refuto agrees to remake the scythe again, and Rinne returns a few days later to report on his progress using the new weapon. He explains that it cuts well, but maybe a little too well. Most of the evil spirits flee into the next world to seek medical attention.

Chapter 122: ワックスどうどす
Wakkusu doudosu

(Wax Doudosu)
Raito shows up at Rinne's home with a small jar of wax to polish his scythe with. Soon Rinne and Sakura arrive at school and realize that the gymnasium floor is caked with some sort of strange mud. The mud soon springs to live and attracts a cluster of dirty rugby shirts into a massive ball which hurtles around the building. Rinne quickly springs into action and strikes the laundry pile with his scythe, but it dashes out the window, snake-like. While in pursuit Rinne notices his scythe has become dirty except for one spot where Raito tested the wax polish on his blade. Fleeing home, he finds that Raito is still there along with the mud/laundry pile. The rabbit girl pesters Rinne and tries to convince him that only her wax polish is good enough to purify the ninety-nine haunted shirts, and then she explains what caused the haunting to occur. The dirty uniforms had become infested with the pent up frustration of the rugby club manager who constantly had to clean the filthy shirt until finally she gave up and shoved them all in a box to be forgotten. Raito constantly tries to push Rinne to buy more and more of the wax, raising the stakes by offering him a two for one price as well as throwing in a handtowel. Poverty-stricken Rinne refuses, but is eventually suckered into a deal by Raito and winds up with six jars of the polish.

Kain soon realizes that as much as he'd like to blame Rinne, the shinigami is not at fault. During the ensuing discussion, Masato attempts to steal the money filled case, but is thwarted by Rinne who places a sticker with the soul of a vicious dog onto it, causing it to snap shut on his hand.

Chapter 125: スイーツ霊
Suittsu rei

(Spirit of Sweets)
Sampling candy at a store, Sakura enjoys a quiet afternoon until suddenly the chocolate fountain goes haywire, spitting and spilling the brown milky confection on everyone. For a brief moment, Sakura catches a glimpse of a haughty looking spirit giving her the evil eye before she vanishes. Rinne decides to investigate the candy shop and shortly after arriving he sees customers scared away by chocolate being drizzled onto little cakes to spell out "curse". The customers all flee, but Rinne spots the ghost girl, a plump young woman with a sweet tooth. Soon Tsubasa arrives and tries to banish the spirit with his usual over-the-top antics which prove more of a hinderance than Rinne's slow and steady methods. Eventually Rinne manages to calm the situation and talks to the plump spirit about what is causing her to linger. She pulls back her bangs and reveals a tiny pimple- the acne she recieved from eating so much chocolate has caused her to try to prevent others from enjoying sweet treats. Rinne solves the problem by giving the ghost girl a little doll that takes on her acne (and weight) in her stead while she uses Rinne's haori to gorge herself on the candy buffet. He also gives her a pill to help her acne, but reveals that it is actually just a placebo. The girl stuffs her face with all sorts of sweets and desserts until the little doll is swollen. Everyone is nervous when another pimple appears on the girl, but she happily vanishes without realizing her further break-out. Unfortunately Rinne is stuck with her bill.

Umami tappuri monitaa

(Deliciousness Monitor)
While visiting Refuto and Raito, Rinne is given a new scythe with a fuzzy tail attached. Mounted on the scythe are two little bells which are used to draw out the spirits of dozens of ghost cats which go into a wild, clawing frenzy. Refuto has designed the scythe that when swung it creates slices of fish cakes that placate the spirits of the cats and lulls them into a more blissful, managable state. Rinne continues to test the scythe, much to Rokumon's excitement, and finds it works well on kittens, but when a large ghost cat arrives, the scythe starts to waver. Rather than let the scythe create something for it to eat, the giant cat simply bites the blade off and then goes on his way with Refuto and Raito leaving shortly thereafter.

Chapter 127: クリスマスの条件
Kurisumasu no jouken

(Christmas Requirements)
A frustrated Rinne visits a convenience store and sees all the delicious looking Christmas cakes on display, quickly becoming frustrated that he cannot afford to buy one for himself and Rokumon. Walking home a small parachute falls from the sky with a note attached, reading "help". The note leads Rinne to an abandoned house and inside he finds Ageha dressed in a sexy Santa outfit and he quickly turns to leave, wanting nothing to do with the excitable shinigami girl. However, leaving is easier said that done, Rinne finds that an invisible barrier is preventing his easy escape. Outside Sakura is walking with her friends and they comment on how the owners would decorate the house in Christmas lights each year before the recession caused them give up their home. Soon Sakura and Tsubasa are also lured inside the house and trapped within, just like Rinne and Ageha. Soon it becomes clear that the house itself is keeping everyone locked there due to its urge to be decorated for Christmas. Using the decorations Ageha brought everyone gets into a festive mood, but Rinne struggles with all the seasonal mirth and wishes he had something to eat. Tsubasa brought a bucket of chicken, but left it on the otherside of the door where the barrier prevents him from going out and retrieving it. Together he and Ageha try to use her scythe to drag it inside, but accidently slice the container in half. With the food destroyed Tsubasa and Ageha begin to fight, while Rinne is tempted by the food they managed to bring in. Oboro teleports in with a Christmas tree and knocks a piece of cake out of Rinne's hand. The barrier around the house is broken and everyone goes back to Rinne's home to enjoy cake.

Chapter 128: 白紙絵馬
Hakushi ema

(Blank Votive)
In the afterlife, Rinne is lured by a roulette ball game where he wins a blank "ema", a votive offering that traditionally has a drawing of a horse on it. Rinne discovers that this blank ema has the potential to grant 50,000 yen worth of wishes depending what is written upon it. He and Rokumon dream of expensive sushi trays and other delectables, while elsewhere a local temple's ema are all being defaced with black slash marks. When Miho and Rika's ema are spoiled, they flee in terror, but Sakura stands her ground and spots the culprit, a nerdy looking ghost boy with an ink brush in hand. He is shocked when he realizes Sakura can see him, and flees. Eventually Sakura manages to wrangle the ghost and bring him to Rinne's apartment where he impulsively starts slashing things with his brush. He loses his grip and the brush goes flying, nearly landing on Rinne's blank, invaluable ema. Rokumon swiftly saves the ema, and the ghost starts to confess why he despises these votives so much. When he was living he followed a girl he liked to a temple where she and her boyfriend hung an ema, wishing for their continued love. Ultimately Rinne risks his blank ema to help the ghost move to the next life. He pretends to offer it up so the ghost can make a wish, but secretly switches it. Unfortunately his hard work is for naught. As soon as the ghost passes on, Ageha and Oboro arrive and the mischevious black cat writes a wish for food on Rinne's precious ema.
