Ibuki Yagami

Ibuki Yagami is the class representative at Kyoko's old high school where Godai did an short stint as a student teacher. When he first meets her, she tries to help him get adjusted to working around all girls, but after witnessing what she believes to be Godai crying over the loss of an old girlfriend, Yagami falls head over heels in love with him, and soon they become the most talked about couple in the entire school, which she hates, because it makes her relationship look childish, when in fact she truly loves her new teacher.

Godai becomes increasingly frustrated at her attempts to be romantic with him. She locks them in the gym storage closet and strips down to her bra, and when the principle arrives, she finds Godai in a very precarious position. It doesn't help matters that Kyoko is there to witness this too.

Yagami could care less about Kyoko though. She is in many ways as thick-headed about winning Godai's affections as Kyoko was with Soichiro. When she learns of Godai's feelings for Kyoko, it barely phases her, but she does begin to think of Kyoko as her rival, and soon their relationship goes from rivalry to all out hate on Yagami's part. She begins to think of Kyoko as nothing more than a coward that doesn't deserve Godai, and tries even harder to win him from her.

The Meaning Behind the Name

Yagami translates to "eight gods".

Yuriko Fuchizaki & Alexandra Carter

Yuriko Fuchizaki had just the right amount of youthful attitude to play Yagami, but she can also play a wide variety of other character types, such as Anthy Himemiya of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Kaori in Akira, Megumi Morisato from Oh! My Goddess and Ko-Ran Li from Sakura Taisen.

Alexandra Carter is Yagami's English voice, and has appeared as spunky young characters in series like Elemental Gelade as Cisqua, Haruka Kyoda in The Daichis - Earth's Defense Force and Momiji in Inuyasha.
