Ichiro Nagai (1931 - 2014)
It is with great sadness that we announce that Ichiro Nagai, one of the most prolific and beloved seiyuu in the industry, passed away in Hiroshima City today. Mr. Nagai was found in a hotel bathtub, and the official cause of death was ruled coronary artery disease. Among Takahashi fans Nagai is best known for his roles as Cherry in Urusei Yatsura, Happosai in Ranma 1/2, Yoreitaisei in Inuyasha and Mukaida in One-Pound Gospel. Rumiko Takahashi for Eisner Hall of Fame?
Both Rumiko Takahashi and Hayao Miyazaki have been nominated to join the Will Eisner Hall of Fame. The Hall is one of the biggest honors in the comic book industry and the inductees will be announced at the San Diego Comic Con, July 24-27. It seems likely that Kyokai no RINNE will finally be getting an anime adaptation. Shogakukan/Shueisha has purchased the "rinne-anime.com" domain name. Shonen Sunday announced in this week's issue that it would have an important announcement regarding Rinne (who will also appear on the cover) in the 51st issue of Shonen Sunday.
