Most people are only aware of the first two Ranma ½ films, while the third is often mistaken for an OVA. Each film is very representative of the different cycles the Ranma ½ anime went through. The first film's character designs stick very closely to the first television series, while the second leans more towards an OVA style. The third is so similar to an OVA that people constantly mistake it for one.
