Shuta sighs as he rides home.
Shuta: And because I hate cats…
It ruined my first love.
Shivers run up Shuta’s spine as he hears a “meow” behind him.
Shuta looks over his shoulder and sees Torachiyo walking along the top of a fence towards him.
Shuta thinking: That’s… Torachiyo.
Torachiyo looks down at Shuta.

Shuta walks up to Miya.
Miya: Well, it was my cat…
Shuta looks away, a bit concerned.
Shuta: Naah, its okay…
Shuta looks away slyly as Miya looks stunned.
Shuta: It wasn’t your fault….-this time-.
Miya’s cheeks turn red as she gets angry.
That time you fell out of the tree wasn’t my fault either.
Shuta begins to get angry as well.
Shuta: Got nothing to say about that evil cat of yours then?
Miya: Don’t talk about him like that!
Miya angrily turns and walks away, shouting back at Shuta.
Miya: I don’t even know why I tried to make up for what happened!
Shuta looks confused.

Shuta: That’s all.
The cat was talking…
A dark panel.
Shuta stares at this cast, as the cat’s voice seems to be coming from there and a ghostly glow surrounds it.

Good morning ma’am.
Shuta’s grandmother, smiling and looking cheerful.
Grandmother: Oh, Miya, it’s been such a long time.
Did you come to see Shuta?
Shuta sitting inside the house, with his ear pressed to the door.

Miya thinking: Whenever we see each other…
Things just get too weird.

Miya: What the hell are you doing!?
Shuta picks himself up, Miya continues to yell.
Shuta: Just listen will ya!
Miya: Well, go on.
Shuta and Miya are sitting on the floor as Shuta begins to unravel his bandaged arm.
Shuta: …and so that’s it.
Miya: I see.
Miya looks worried as she holds Shuta’s paw in her hands, examining it.
Miya: This looks just like the pattern on Torachiyo’s coat.
Shuta looks annoyed at Miya’s question.
Miya: Why would Torachiyo try to possess you though?
Shuta: How should I know!
Shuta’s Grandmother with shadows over her face, looking very ominous.
Grandmother: It’s because the cat’s attachement to her runs deep.
The curse cannot be broken.
Grandmother goes back to looking normal, as she brings Shuta and Miya some tea, but they both look extremely scared of her.
Grandmother: Did you hear what I said?
Shuta gets angry with his grandmother as Miya looks on stunned.
Shuta: Wh-what are you saying, Grandma?
Grandmother: Miya, about Torachiyo…
Grandmother looks concerned.
Grandmother: He was quite old, was he not?
Miya looks concerned.
Miya: Um, well, he was born before I was, so…
I’m pretty sure he’s almost 20…
Grandmother looks ominous once more, but less sinister.
Grandmother: When a cat lives that long…
He learns to understand what people tell him.
Miya has a sudden flash of realization..
Grandmother touches her hand to her shadow-covered face.
Grandmother: You’re his owner Miya, can you think of anything?
Why would your cat want to haunt Shuta…
Miya stares blankly.
Miya: She’s lying.
He couldn’t understand me, that’s…
Miya suddenly freaks out as she remembers all the time she spent talking to Torachiyo in her room.
Miya in flashback: Shuta this, Shuta that, Shuta, Shuta, Shuta…
Miya: Omigod! He really could understand me?!
Miya leans back, completely stunned.
Miya: Because I kept talking about Shuta everyday…
Did Torachiyo remember what I said about Shuta…?
Shuta and Grandmother crowd around a nervous-looking Miya.
Miya: I remember something, but…
But, that can’t be the reason.
Miya dashes out of the house.
Miya: It can’t beeeeeeeeee!!
Grandmother and Shuta look confused.
Grandmother: What was that about?
Grandmother looks at Shuta out of the corner of her eyes.
Grandmother: Shuta, do you…
Remember what you might have done to make Torachiyo curse you?

Boy: What about the club though?
Voice off panel, as Miya looks irritated as every comment makes her feel more guilty about Shuta’s injury.
Voice: Shuta, what’s up…
You don’t look like your usual, energetic self.
Shuta feigns sadness as a balled up message is hurled his way.
Shuta: Can’t be helped.
You guys’ just have to press on ‘til I feel better.
Shuta stares at the little message that lands on his desk…
…and suddenly his injured arm springs at it and playfully slaps the message around on his desk.
Shuta lies on the floor with the message, having fallen out of his desk.
Haruyo: Oh, okay.
She turns around with a nervous smile on her face.
Boy: Are you sure your arm’s broken…?
Shuta unwraps the message with his good hand and reads it.
Shuta: Come to the rear court…Miya…
Shuta turns to look at Miya, but she looks away just as he does.
Shuta and Miya standing outside.
Miya: Can’t you cooperate, even a little?
Shuta looks confused.
Miya shakes her head.
Miya: Why would my cat do this…?
We should at least be able to talk about it.
Shuta stares at her, frowning.
Shuta thinking: What…
She’s the one that seems reluctant to cooperate.
Miya stands with her back to Shuta.
Shuta: I’m going to be frank then.
There’s a chance Torachiyo’s dead.

Shuta: The day he possessed me…
He was on his last legs.
Shuta’s grandmother in flashback.
Grandmother: The cat was aware of his limited amount of time.

Shuta looks at her with a mix of annoyance and disbelief.
Miya sinks to her knees and begins to cry as Shuta crawls over next to her.
Shuta looks nervous as he pleads with Miya.
Shuta: Sorry, it just slipped out…
Suddenly Shuta’s paw touches Miya’s face.
Miya stops crying as she feels Shuta’s paw on her cheek.
Miya clings to Shuta’s paw.
Shuta watches Miya silently.
Shuta blushes and his heart pounds as Miya clings to his paw.
Miya holding Shuta’s paw to her face.
Whenever I would cry…
He’d wipe away my tears like this…
Miya holds Shuta’s paw in her hands, staring at it sadly.
Miya: Torachiyo still lives on in here…
Shuta flashes an impatient grin at Miya who frowns in response.
Shuta: We need to make him go off to the spiritual world.
Miya: Then make him.
The clouds in the sky.
We should do some of the things that Torachiyo enjoyed.
Miya and Shuta sitting on the floor of her room, cat toys strewn everywhere.
Do you want to play with any of these?
Shuta: Why you…
Miya wiggles a feather on a string, and Shuta’s paw instantly starts slapping it.
Miya tosses a ball and Shuta’s paw reaches for it.
Outside of Miya’s house, night has fallen.
Miya: There ya go!
Miya and Shuta sit, out-of-breath, on the floor.
Shuta: That’s enough…
Miya crouches and stares at Shuta’s paw.
Miya: It’s no good.
It’s not going away.
Shuta’s paw suddenly slips onto Miya’s upper thigh.
A deafening silence as Miya stares at Shuta’s paw.
Miya blushes as her heart races.
Shuta blushes as well, his heart pounding.
Miya closes her eyes, her cheeks still red with embarrassment.
Shuta quickly protests in an attempt to save himself.
Shuta: I-it’s not me.
It’s the cat…
Clearly not what Miya wanted to hear, as lighting crackles around her and she gets a scary look on her face.
Miya begins to stomp Shuta into the floor.
Miya: I KNEW THAT!
Nighttime, outside Shuta’s house.
Miya’s on the phone.
Shuta holds the phone as his cat arm scratches the wall beside him.
Shuta: Check out some of the old haunts?
Miya sitting on the floor of her room, on the phone.
Some of Torachiyo’s old territory.
It just came to me.
Shuta looks bored as his cat arm continues to claw the wall.
Miya’s voice: If you don’t want to though, that’s fine…
Shuta: Naah, naah, I’ll go.
Miya, dressed in a cute, Chinese dress, carrying a picnic basket.

Miya: Duh, its one of Torachiyo’s favorite spots.
Shuta stares at a tree.
Shuta thinking: That’s the tree I fell out of…
Shuta hears the sound of cans opening.
Miya lays out three open cans of cat food.
Shuta begins yelling at Miya.
Shuta: YOU CALL THIS A BOXED LUNCH?
Miya: This is Torachiyo’s favorite food.
Miya lays down a bento box chock full of sandwiches and other food.
Miya: I’ve got something here for you too…
Shuta takes a bite of a sandwich as Miya watches, clearly pleased.
Shuta turns to face Miya, blushing, while Miya looks nervous.
Miya turns away, blushing.
Miya: Anyway Shuta,
Miya is still blushing, but looks determined.
Miya: Whenever I was around you before I was sort of anti-social…
The truth is…

Shuta attempts to defend himself as his friend gets hostile.
Shuta: There’s nothing going on between us.
Boy 2: Liar.
I thought something fishy was going on.

Shuta: Wh-what is it, Miya?
Miya is clearly annoyed.
Miya: I’ve kept silent too long, but now…
I’ll tell you.
Shuta looks curious as Miya begins her explanation.
Miya: The reason why Torachiyo possessed you is…
Miya gets louder, with a look of determination and anger on her face.
Miya: Because day after day…
I BADMOUTHED YOU TO TORACHIYO!
Shuta is shocked.
Miya shuts her eyes tight, as she continues to yell at Shuta.
Miya: I HATE YOU,
AND THAT’S WHY YOU’RE CURSED!
Shuta thinking: S…So…
Shuta falls to his knees helplessly, his coat fluttering in the breeze.
Shuta thinking: She hates me.
Shuta tries to catch his breath as Miya stares at him, somewhat confused at his reaction.
Shuta looks crushed.
I thought so…

Miya: You did…?
Shuta stares at the bandaged cat arm sadly.
Shuta: I didn’t think I’d done anything to make him hate me…
Miya: B-But you…

Miya: IT’S NOT LIKE YOU DIDN’T HATE ME TOO.
I CAME TO SEE YOU TONS OF TIMES TO APOLOGIZE…
Shuta stands up, to offer an angry rebuttal.
Shuta: You brought your cat though, didn’t you!
Miya: BUT YOU DIDN’T WANT TO SEE ME!
Shuta calms down and gives a heartfelt look to Miya.
I did want to…

Okay, you can go to heaven now.
Shuta: Then why’d you have to possess me?
Grandmother: Maybe because you’re an idiot?
Much later, Shuta and Miya sit in her room. Shuta’s hand is on Miya’s thigh as she slaps it.
Torachiyo’s soul is still in me…
Miya: That’s YOUR hand.
