Music Calendar '91

CD only

KACD-0027

1. First Period (Lum talks about the start of school)
2. Second Period (the story about when they went to the ocean)
3. Third Period (in Ataru's room)
4. Yume wa Love Me More (Lum tells a story from the past)

That's right; just two songs. But they're both about 10 minutes long. The first track is a symphonic treatment of the various UY songs with overdubbed sound bites from nearly every character that appeared in the series. The second track is an original song in which each of the main characters sings a solo verse, and then they join together at the end for a couple of spirited choruses. Very cute.

The remixes for songs #3,7,9,10, and 11 are well done. The mix for #7 is excellent, probably the best of the CD. Song #9 has piano as its only instrument. However, there were some pretty awful mixes, such as #6,8, and 12. "Rock the Planet" sounds totally out of sync while "Suki kirai" has virtually no music, just beats. For song #12, the mixed version sounds nothing like the original version.

Overall, this is a good CD, recommended for people who don't have the Juke Boxes. Otherwise, it is better to stay with Juke Box 1 and 2. Lastly, the remixes on CD have a tendency to implement excessive beats.
