With an anime announced by Sunrise, the cast of the MAO anime share their excitement over beginning production on a new Rumiko Takahashi series.

Rumiko Takahashi (Creator of MAO) Thank you for adapting it into an anime. It turned out just as well as I expected, and the voice actors are great. I think everyone will enjoy it. Be sure to check it out!

Yuki Kaji (Mao) I am Yuki Kaji, who will be voicing Mao. Finally... I can finally announce it! Five and a half years since I first answered an interview about this work. Four years since I first voiced my character. One and a half years since dubbing began. Finally, the time has come to deliver the happy news that MAO will be animated! I am truly, truly happy from the bottom of my heart. I have cherished every episode of MAO, savoring the gratitude of being able to be involved in the work of my beloved Rumiko Takahashi-sensei. This work was produced by a team full of love and passion under the direction of Director Teruo Sato. I am confident that it has turned out to be an incredibly wonderful work! Please look forward to the broadcast!

Natsumi Kawaida (Nanoka Kiba) My name is Kawaida Natsumi and I will be playing Nanoka Kiba. It was like a dream to even be able to audition, but to think I would be entrusted with the role of Nanoka?! I was trembling with excitement when I received word of my acceptance. I am truly happy to be able to walk through the world of MAO alongside her, a character who doesn't feel like a stranger in any way. I will put all my energy into my role! Please look forward to the broadcast!

Hiro Shimono (Hyakka) When I acted in the promotional video for the original manga MAO, I said, "If it's made into an anime, I definitely want to continue playing this role!", but I never thought I'd actually be able to continue playing Hyakka, so I was surprised and really happy! I'm looking forward to seeing Kaji-kun playing Mao and Toyonaga-kun playing Kamon together, just like in the promotional video for the original manga!!

Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Kamon) I have performed in the promotional videos for the original manga and in the original streaming programs, so I was really happy when I found out I would be continuing in the anime...it was a huge relief. I'm really looking forward to interacting with Kamon-sama once again, and immersing myself in the world of MAO, and taking on the challenge as an actor! Thank you very much for your support!
