Milk Hall
Food

A type of cafe called a "milk hall" was gaining in popularity during the Taisho Era due to the hurried Westernization that was sweeping Japan. Milk hall became the defacto name for a western-style cafe where coffee or milk was served in an atmosphere featuring chairs and tables of a European style.

Relevance to MAO

Because milk halls are a quintessential aspect of 1920s Japanese culture it makes sense of one to be one of the central hubs in Mao. Tenko works at the eponymous location where she shares gossip with Mao and Nanoka.
