Cologne taught Ryoga this manuver after he was out-matched by Ranma who had recently learned the Kachu Tenshin Amaguriken technique. Ryoga is able to strike a point in any inanimate object and shatter it. The flying debris generated by this pelt Ryoga and help build up his endurance.
