"Wednesday's Diary" is published in each issue of Shonen Sunday and a different artist contributes to the page each week. The column began in Shonen Sunday 2019 Vol. 1 with Gosho Aoyama.
Rumiko Takahashi published her first entry in the column alongside the first chapter of MAO. Takahashi discusses what she did during her break between ending Kyokai no RINNE and beginning MAO. She explains that she slept well, regrets not practicing using the computer, read Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple" and "Poirot" books, and had a wisdom tooth removed and three cavities worked on.
Rumiko Takahashi published her second entry in the "Wednesday's Diary" column of Shonen Sunday. This entry was all text with no drawing. In the column she discusses the movies that she and her assistants have been watching while they work recently. They watched the X-Men series of films, which she said she had missed out on when they were released, as well as Indian films and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof.
Rumiko Takahashi published her third "Wednesday's Diary" in this issue of Shonen Sunday. Though she includes no drawing in this column, she discusses her worries over her five disc CD player that also plays cassettes and minidiscs breaking down and the difficulty of replacing electronics that are no longer manufactured.
Takahashi published her fifth "Wednesday's Diary" in Shonen Sunday this week. She announced that her editor, Kento Moriwaki, was leaving after five years working together. She thanked him for all his help with projects both manga-related and otherwise. She said she looks forward to working with her first female editor, Riri Okamoto and says she is glad that she is easy to get along with.
In the sixth "Wednesday's Diary" Takahashi talks about how the current chapter of MAO (chapter 145) takes place during Taisho 13 (1924) and her research shows that men's short-sleeved shirts were not introduced until the Showa era. Consequently she is showing Mao with his sleeves rolled up instead of in short sleeves.
Rumiko Takahashi published her seventh entry in the "Wednesday's Diary" column of Shonen Sunday. This entry discusses food. Takahahsi discusses a few dishes she has cooked for the first time in 25 years such as stuffed peppers, the cheese grater she bought, a lotus root soup she had and red kitsune noodles which she shows Mao and Nanoka blowing on due to their "cat's tongue" (meaning they are sensitive to hot liquids). The text at the bottom is not from Takahashi and is labeled "post-editorial note".
Rumiko Takahashi published her eighth entry in the "Wednesday's Diary" column of Shonen Sunday. This entry discusses her schedule. Takahashi mentions being a night owl, but starting this year she has shifted her schedule and has begun working early in the morning instead and has decided that is much more efficient.
