Kaoru Akimoto |
Akimoto's debut single was her Fire Tripper release of Paradox. After that she released a solo album Cologne and followed that by joining the band Shambara. Her song "Dress Down" from Cologne seems to be one of her most memorable and has been covered a handful of times and was re-released in 2017. Akimoto later went on to become a lyricist which she has done since 1990.

Kilala & Ulala
|
Kilala (Kanako Ootani) and Ulala (Nagisa Amano) made up this 1980s duo. Their original group name was "Kanako & Nagisa" but they soon rebranded themselves as Kilala & Ulala. They disbanded after three years with their The Supergal work coming near the end of their time together. Their albums include "Senti Metal Boy" and "Love Adventure".

Yoshiko Yamagiwa with TOPS

TOPS was a 1980s era band that went through a number of singers and incarnations and provided the song "Midori no Lullaby" for The Supergal soundtrack. Masahiro Mitsui was the male vocalist with the longest career coming out of TOPS while Yoshiko Yamagiwa was his female counterpart vocalist. After Mitsui left the group they rebranded themselves as "THE TOPS" with Yoshiko Yamagiwa continuing on. By 1989 the group had disbanded. They released their debut album "Sore ike BOYS!" in 1986 and their other releases include "She's a Lady", "Loving You", and "Roman no Champion". Yamagiwa did a song called "Alone" for the mecha anime Galvion.

Akiko Okaya

Born June 8, 1971, Okaya began her career making television dramas for NHK and TV Asahi before she recorded the song "Impact" for Laughing Target. Then a severe car accident at the age of nineteen left her too injured to work in the entertainment world. Following five plastic surgeries, time working as an office lady to learn practical skills, traveling, and learning English (and passed her Eiken Level 1 and scored an 840 on the TOEIC) she returned to acting as a voice actress for anime and dubbing Hollywood films. Se now works under her real name, Hiroe Oka. She provides the Japanese dubbing voice for Kirsten Dunst, Catherine Heigl, Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron and Kate Winslet.

speena made their debut on the Avex Trax label in October 2000 with the single "Calm Soul". Avex dropped them in 2007 after their release of "Ninnananna". They have since rechristened themselves "The Yvonne Sisters". Their theme song for Rumiko Takahashi Anthology, "Tsudureori" reached 89 on the Oricon charts.

Kumachi

The band name comes from a nickname for the lead singer, Kumagai. Other than the lead singer many of the other memebers started in the heavy metal band "Headless Children". They debuted in 2000, signed with Avex in 2002 and then broke up in 2005. Kumagai has since gone solo as of 2007.

Hiromi Sato

Sato got her start as the vocalist/keyboardist for the band Satyagraha. After they broke up in 2000 she went on to a solo career. A number of her singles have been used in anime including Please Twins, Galaxy Angel, and Moeyo Ken.

Misato Fujiya

Born in 1980, Fujiya has released a number of singles in the mid-2000s as well as appeared on the mini vocal album "Gift" for the PC game of the same name. She contributed the ending theme for the Moeyo Ken television series.
